I recently participated in a gymnastics training course put on by Megan. Megan brought a warm and friendly energy to the course. She was knowledgeable and broke down the process of how to work towards a muscle up, handstand pushups and handstand walks in a way that was easy to follow and also perform. I even managed to get my first assisted muscle up with her help!! It was so nice to be able to learn in person with Megan rather than attending a seminar online! She gave me many useful tips and tricks so that I can help future clients work towards their gymnastic goals in the gym! 10/10 would recommend Megan! I look forward to any other courses she will offer!

Walking away from CrossFit after 11 years was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but I knew my body needed a change. Since working with Megan and focusing on strength training, I have never felt this good or this strong.

Megan has been more than just a coach. She has been a friend, a confidant, and a constant source of support through this transition. She’s been there every step of the way and has helped me rebuild strength and confidence in my body.

Recently I completed a full back squat session without wearing a belt, something I had never done before, especially at those weights and volumes. My core felt strong the entire time and for the first time ever my body felt truly balanced and capable.

I am incredibly grateful for Megan’s guidance and support. I truly would not be where I am today without her.

I’m a 54 year old male who has dealt with knee pain for over 20 years due to curling. My only expectation when I started training with Megan is that my pain would get worse and I would have to quit shortly thereafter. However after only 5 weeks I had a noticeable reduction of pain and within 2 months I was curling pain free.

Training times are scheduled by appointment.

I am so thankful for Megans coaching and support in my postpartum journey. Her expert programming has been a game changer for my recovery and I feel stronger than ever !!

Despite several years of experience in a variety of gym settings, I was quite nervous about returning to the gym after having a baby. At three months postpartum, I didn’t feel ready or able to return to CrossFit classes but I was itching to get into the gym. When we spoke about a personal training and independent online programming mix, I immediately felt comforted. I was comforted that I had a plan that would get me back into the gym building strength but more importantly, comforted that I had your expert coaching guiding me throughout. Given all the changes in my body from pregnancy and childbirth (c-section!), I didn’t know where or how to start.

The combo of her two day / week accessory work program focusing on day 1- lower body and day 2 - upper body as well as cardio/abs on my own time, has me feeling super strong and healthy.

I cannot emphasize enough that the postpartum journey / taking care of a baby is really rough on the body. The stress on the body is unreal (hello inadvertent slouching and mom wrist!). Her encouragement and push to progressively overload has helped me feel stronger and less achy in my day-to-day life while carrying, playing and breastfeeding my baby. I know that I would not be pushing myself enough with upper body exercises so that work has been particularly helpful. I also know all this programmed accessory work will make me a better CrossFit athlete.

"I was first introduced to Megan when I started CrossFit at Norak in 2023. I was completely green and, admittedly, overwhelmed by the class workouts. It was difficult to put myself out there-especially being around others who had clearly been doing this for a long time-but Megan always ensured the workouts were scaled to my fitness level while still keeping them challenging.

Her positive “you can do this” attitude, consistent encouragement, and genuine care for people were key aspects of her coaching style that kept me coming to class regularly. Honestly, she was a big reason I stuck with it while embracing the suck of learning something entirely new and demanding.

Fast forward to more recently: I was recovering from a prior injury and began private coaching with Megan. I only wish I had done it sooner! She was incredibly patient and prioritized safety at every step, which allowed my body to rebuild trust with specific movements. I’m now stronger than before, and more importantly, her coaching helped build the foundation I needed to continue my fitness journey in a healthier, more sustainable way.

Megan is a fantastic human with infectious positive energy, and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone-at any level of fitness or ability.

Megan goes above and beyond to make sure you are getting the most out of each workout. She has helped me tremendously with getting in shape, building my confidence, and helping me move better and safer. The best part of my day is walking into the gym and feeling like I am home.

I have been doing both personal training and bootcamps with Megan for 7 months.

I was never athletic and never thought I was capable of any sort of physical activity, especially cardio. I hated the feeling of “omg I’m going to have a heart-attack”, so I just avoided it. I suffer from anxiety, so the idea of working out with strangers freaked me out.

I was introduced to Megan and I told her how I felt right off the bat. She was so understanding, reassuring, kind, and not judgmental in the least! I am so thankful for Megan, I know whenever I need a pick me up I can always text Meg and count on her and confide in. Her workouts always leave me feeling satisfied, like I did something so positive for myself. She’ll always make sure the workouts are comfortable for you and have your best interest at heart.

She’s more than just a trainer, she’s a good friend. If you’re looking for a trainer who is down to earth, genuine, with a kind soul who will also be sure to kick your ass in the gym, Meg is your girl.

I never feel more badass than when I’m working with Megan.

She’s authentic, dedicated, and incredibly knowledgeable.

If you’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about helping you move forward - even through injuries or setbacks - Megan is your person.

I am in the military and after training with Megan I have improved my yearly fitness test results each year, with this year being the best when I scored “Platinum”, 397 out of 400 points. 99.9% of the people who do this test will not achieve this score. “How was the FORCE Rewards Program scoring tables determined? Based upon the results of over 109,000 FORCE Evaluations, performed in 2016-2017 thresholds were created to ensure 50% of the CAF could achieve the Incentive level. Approximately 34% could achieve Bronze, 14% Silver, 2% Gold and 0.1% Platinum.” Come train with Megan and see how far you can improve yourself.

I want to tell you a story about a 58-year-old woman and the person who changed her life. I recently decided to retire after 27 years of teaching Kindergarten. This is my story of success and hope and how I achieved it with the help of Megan Maes.

I had been battling a knee injury off and on since I was 18 years old. When I turned 53 the injury returned, but as I was getting older the recovery period was longer, slower and more discouraging. I had always been a runner—not a marathoner, but a jogger—and I loved getting up at 5:00 in the morning to go for my jog with my dogs. Those mornings gave me the energy to enjoy my kindergarten students.

Then another knee injury came. This time I was told I had arthritis in my knee, that I could never run again, and that I would need a knee replacement. I was devastated. My knee wasn’t healing and eventually I couldn’t even walk further than my car in a parking lot to the store. I lived this way for about three years and nothing was helping.

One day at the lake my friend and neighbour Nancy brought me a flyer for a CrossFit group. She believed the class—and especially the coach, Megan Maes—could help me regain strength. Nancy assured me Megan would keep me safe and that I would benefit from the experience, so I signed up for a 12-week session.

When I arrived at the gym Megan immediately greeted me, asked about my goals, and explained how we could reach them. There was no doubt in her voice. Her warm-ups reflected the movements we would work on, and she taught how each movement should be executed. She was present and involved during every class.

After 20 weeks I even joined a CrossFit gym while on vacation in Maui so I wouldn’t lose my progress. I learned that the CrossFit community is awesome.

Today I am walking up to 3 miles a day and can even run short distances—something I once believed would never be possible. My arms have muscle definition again and my overall health has improved physically and mentally. Megan has created a community of kindness, encouragement and support. She has brought me to a place in my life that I thought I would never see again. If you work hard, Megan will get you there.

What makes Megan an awesome CrossFit coach:

  • Always a great warm-up
  • Inclusive – a place where I can work out with my adult children
  • Attention to detail and proper form
  • Encouragement that pushes you to do your best
  • Skill work that is fun and challenging
  • Modifications for every ability level
  • One-on-one time to answer questions and help you improve
  • Home and travel workouts to keep you active
  • Weekly challenges for fitness, diet or mindfulness
  • A strong knowledge base she shares with clients
  • A fun and supportive community

I was recently invited to join a volleyball group after not playing for 30 years, and I enjoyed it immensely. The only reason I was able to do this was the level of fitness I achieved working with Megan.

Thank you Megan!
